In robotic clay extrusion, a solitary nozzle geometry can produce diverse printing effects when the toolpath direction changes. This notion guides our design of a multilayer 3D printed nozzle.
We printed and glazed 6 unique tiles utilizing one of the nozzles we designed. The 3 toolpaths respectively highlight the layering and transitioning effects at the top and the sides of the tiles. This photoshoped image shows the tessellation effect achieved by more tiles.
